摘要:本文是初中英语教学论文,本文通过对英语第二课堂在初中教学实践中的研究分析,旨在提出完善英语第二课堂教学的建议和切实可行的对策,帮助中学发现并改正其在英语第二课堂中存在的问题,从而提高英语第二课堂教学效率,并丰富和补充了英语第二课堂的相关理论。

“The domestic study of the Second Classroom is relatively late, and it began in 1956.  At  that  time,  schools  mainly  organized  students  to  do  some  activities,  such  as productive work, physical exercises and learning groups” (Yunlei Shi 6). In 1982, the extra-curricular activity was named the second classroom. “The Ministry of Education in China defines that the extra-curricular activity is a continuation of the first activity” (qtd. in Yunlei Shi: 6). The purposes of the extra-curricular activity are to help expand students’  knowledge,  develop  students’  expertise,  train  students’  thinking  ability, practical ability and creative ability. The characteristics of the extra-curricular activity are interesting, diverse, flexible and effective.   In China, the research mainly experiences three stages, and it is mainly about the Second  English  Classroom.  The  first  stage  is  from  the  early  80s  to  the  end  of  80s. During  this  period,  scholars  mainly  studied  the  related  connotation,  methods  of practice  and  the  influence  of  developing  extra-curricular  English.  Tian  Xu  (1984) agrees, “The study of the Second English Classroom strengthens the students’ practical ability”  (7).  Lijun  Sun  analyzed  three  aspects  of  English  learning  including  learning content,  method  and  environment,  and  discussed  the  development  of  the extra-curricular  English  to  gain  knowledge  and  educational  significance.

Through statistical analysis of the survey results above, it can be found that the Second English Classroom activities in junior middle school still have some problems and deficiencies at present in Shuangliu County, Chengdu.
