Resit to replace Proposal (Portfolio)
留学生用英语The resit Proposal takes one of the following forms:
1 If you hand in no Proposal Portfolio at all, you will be required to hand in as a resit a proposal
on the original topic and a reflective report.
2 If you hand in a Proposal Portfolio which fails, you may be required to do some more work on it
and hand in as a resit an improved Proposal Portfolio and a reflective report.
3 If your submitted Proposal Portfolio fails very badly, your tutor may ask that you hand in as a
resit proposal on a new topic and a reflective report.
Instructions for Proposal (70%):
Write a 2500 word project proposal (+ or – 10%) including the text of your proposal but excluding
the cover page, Reference list, footnotes and appendices. The proposal will identify clearly:
• Introduction 200 words (Project aims/objectives and research problem)
• Literature Review 1500 words (Background to your proposed area of study –
including an outline of the literature you intend to review, with a
discussion of the issues you will consider.)
• Methods 500 words (Your proposed research methods – the nature of the
data you intend to collect, analyse and report with a clear
justification of reasons for choosing such methods)
• Access to data 100 words (The way in which you will gain access to your data
including anticipated problems and your proposed solutions)
• Timetable 100 words (A timetable for completion of the project with clear
intermediated targets)
• Conclusions 100 words (Plus appendices)
This is an individual assignment please do not work closely with anyone else.
