Many English learners complain that when they are talking in English, they don’t know what to talk about---they don’t have enough common topics; and even if they find one, they can’t find enough words related to the topic. English songs can offer much help in what to say and in the vocabulary that is related to the topic, that is, thematic vocabulary. English songs contain a variety of themes, such as love, peace, hero, encouragement, friendship, etc.. All of these are good themes and can be used as topics in spoken English practice.
