摘要:本文是一篇高中英语论文,为了探索多模态模式对词汇教学的影响,作者在实验班和控制班采用了两种不同的词汇教学方法。实验班采用多模态词汇教学。同时,对照班接受传统的词汇教学。本研究主要探讨了两种不同的教学方法对词汇知识三个方面的影响。
本文是一篇高中英语论文,笔者认为多模态词汇教学模式有助于培养学生根据不同的学习环境调整学习策略的能力。随着词汇学习策略的改进,词汇知识的广度和深度也在提高。这一结果与之前的研究一致。词汇学习策略与词汇量和词汇使用有着密切的关系。学生掌握的词汇学习策略越多,掌握的词汇知识就越好。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Research Background
With the emerge of the global technology and the information age, people attach great importance on English. As the dominant carrier of information, English is considered to be the most popular spoken English in the globe. To master English well, it is essential to learn vocabulary well. For teachers and students in senior high school, vocabulary is acknowledged to be the key factor contributing to English teaching and learning. With the popularization of science and technology in English teaching, multimodal teaching mode is recommended to promote students’ vocabulary acquisition.
The New English Curriculum for Chinese Senior high Schools (2017 Edition, 2020 Revision) puts forward higher requirements for the quantity and quality of English vocabulary. Students are required to master 3000 ~ 3200 words in the selective compulsory stage. All localities can choose to add 200 words on the basis of the words in the vocabulary according to the actual situation. Additionally, students are not only expected to expand English vocabulary, but also understand, master and use the vocabulary properly. To be specific, the aims of vocabulary teaching in senior high school are listed as follows:
(1) To cultivate students' awareness of lexical chunks according to different contexts. (2) To expand students' vocabulary by means of reading extensively to enhance students' competence of applying vocabulary accurately. (3) To make sense of the meaning and function of the given words in the text, especially the connotation as well as denotation of the specific words. (4) To sort out the words and express relevant information according to different topics. (5) To accumulate lexical chunks by acquiring different collocations, such as verbs and nouns, verbs and adverbs, adjectives and nouns etc.
1.2 Research Purpose
As the problems mention above, it is high time to find out the solutions. The fact that students in senior high school still have trouble learning English vocabulary can not be ignored. In order to promote students’ competence for learning vocabulary, it is rewarding to discover whether there are more effective and efficient methods to change the current situation of vocabulary teaching in China.
