4.1 Analysis of the Current Situation in English Reading Scores
There will be two components to analyze the current situation of students’ English reading scores. The first is to analyze the scores of the English reading section of the entrance examination for first-year students in senior high school. Secondly, a questionnaire will be used to analyze the influence of students’ reading attitudes, habits, and strategies on their English reading scores.
4.1.1 Current Situation on Students’ English Reading Scores
The current situation on students’ English reading scores will answer the first question: what is the current situation of Senior One students’ English reading scores in XX County, XXX?
This part analyzes the overall reading scores and the four types of English reading in the entrance examination for the two senior high school classes. The test paper has 30 points, 2 points for each question, and 15 questions. As shown in Table 4.1, the grades are now divided into four stages: excellent, good, pass, and fail.
5 Conclusion
5.1 Major Findings
Aiming at the students’ poor English reading status and lack of English reading ability in the first grade, this research applies the PAD Class Model to senior high school English reading teaching. This study is currently under constructivism learning theory and humanism learning theory. A three-month teaching experiment was conducted on two first-year senior high school classes in XX County, XXX. Research methods mostly included material analysis, questionnaires, and tests, and the data was collected and sorted, the experimental results were analyzed and discussed, and the following conclusions were reached:
