摘要:本文是高中英语教学论文,通过对实验数据的分析和讨论,研究结果发现,在英语阅读教学过程中有意识地使用衔接连贯理论对学生的阅读技巧进行训练可以更有效地改善学生的阅读兴趣;并且衔接连贯理论能有效的提高学生的阅读成绩。
Chapter One Introduction
Reading, as a major approach to language input and output, is also an essential step in developing students’ language competence. In China, due to lack of a certain extent theoretical instruction in reading class, the senior high school students’ reading capability still needs to be further improved. Through the application of Cohesion and Coherence Theory to English reading teaching, it expects to improve and enhance students’ awareness of discourse analysis so as to enlighten students’ comprehensive ability in senior high school.
1.1 Background of the research
As is known to all, English plays a very important role in everyone’s daily life. Reading takes a great proportion to English for senior high school students. Accordingly, reading plays an irreplaceable role in senior high school students’ English learning. In the first place, because we are in such a geopolitical environment, Chinese students have less communication chance with English native speakers. For the sake of learning English well, students have no choice but to rely on reading to get information and acquire knowledge. Secondly, reading has large percent in English examination. Therefore, reading is quite important in English learning. During the process of reading, students can study and accumulate the vocabulary and phrase. Meanwhile, students can learn about how to apply grammar so that it can train students’ reading application ability to some extent. Nevertheless, the current situation of English reading teaching in senior high school is not satisfying. The majority teachers still use the normal teaching method in English reading course. When starting a new lesson, students usually require to pre-read the whole text and chase down the right answer of the warming-up questions in the text’s beginning. However, students just glance over the text, who can not answer the pre-reading questions in their own words instead of the phrase or sentences of original text. In other words, students can’t come into being their own opinion in the reading process. Consequently, the teacher should teach and train the students to come into being their own opinion. It is a very hard process for the teacher and the students. The students just learn the words and grammar which is insufficient for their English learning. They can hardly understand the deep meaning and analyze the whole text’s structure.
