The residents living there face difficulties as cars are parked in the already narrower streets, often blocking passage.

I interviewed a part time worker who worked at a jewelry shop to earn a living. He told me that his salary depends on the sales during a month so the increase in load shedding puts off the customers added by the scorching heat and also some customers find the sound of generators very irritating which ultimately leads to lower sales and less salary as the owner is experiencing a loss. In extreme cases the workers lose their jobs to cut down loss, so they are left with no other choice but to take up more than one job, like he worked at the jewelry shop till 5 and then on a gas station during the days of low sale. The shopkeepers who cannot afford generators are left with no other option but to abandon their businesses and seek for other jobs for their livelihood. This seriously damages the economy of the area. The Shah Alam market is very famous for electronic goods, each and every type of electronic good is available here but the shopkeepers complain that there are no facilities available in case of fire as it has been caught up by fire very often. The structure of the whole area is very close to each other accompanied with narrow streets so is there is a fire it spreads to the buildings nearby very quickly and because they are linked to each other it keeps on spreading which can be disastrous. Recently a huge fire broke out in shah Alam market which resulted in the burning of merchandise worth billions of rupees and loss of precious lives. The business community faced heavy losses in the result of these fires which have become very common.
