1.3 The Outline of Present Study研究大纲
This thesis consists of six chaptersChapter one deals with the theoretical background of the classroom interaction.The present study aims to investigate the influence of teacher questioning on students’answer in EFL classroom, the answer and the relationship between teacher questioningand students’ answer.Chapter two is about the literature review of theories on questioning. Some basicconcepts about questioning such as question strategies, question types, wait-time,question functions, and so on. Following the discussion of functions and purposes ofclassroom teachers’ questions, categorization of questions is presented. The next part ofthe chapter is about the related domestic researches about classroom teachers’questioning strategies. And at last is about waiting time in classroom interaction.Chapter three is about the methodology of this study, is also the central part of thispaper. It begins with the investigation purposes, followed by the investigation setting,subjects, instruments and data collection methodology and analysis procedures.Chapter four which is the most important part of this thesis provides a detaileddescription of the results about the investigation purposes based on classroomobservations and data descriptions. On the basis of the results, detailed discussions andexplanations of the results are presented in the latter part.Chapter five presents the discussions about the question types, question strategiesand wait time employed and associated with students’ answers.The last chapter of the thesis is the conclusion that includes the major findings ofthe investigation, both the significance of the present investigation and the implicationsfor the future researches.
