Lexical sophistication is one of the measure indexes of the lexical richness.It canbe measured as the proportion of the low-frequency words in the text.And it can reflectlearners’ability of using advanced vocabulary.
In order to observe the detailed changes of lexical sophistication for high Englishproficiency level students’writings in four rounds of the Iterative Continuation,Figure4.1 was presented according to the proportions of the correct types of beyond 2000words and the total number of words in the four rounds of the Iterative Continuation.Aswas showed in Figure 4.1,from the first round to the fourth round,the changes of thelexical sophistication for high English proficiency level was ascending.And the lexicalsophistication for high English proficiency level students in the first round was 2.28%,the last round was 3.92%,the difference between the first and the fourth round wasobvious.But there was a decline from the second round to the third round.Maybe it was because high English proficiency level students dared not to apply advanced words totheir own continuation tasks.After noticing the phenomenon,the teacher offered moreusages of advanced words and encouraged students to use these words.In the fourthround,the lexical sophistication for high English proficiency level students reached to3.92本论文由英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写,英语论文代写,代写论文,代写英语论文,代写留学生论文,代写英文论文,留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
