摘要:本文是英语阅读论文,为了找到一条行之有效的高职英语阅读教学的途径,笔者进行了问卷调查,进行了多项测试,并进行了实验教学。
to comprehensively know about the current situation of English reading teaching in higher vocational and technical colleges, the questionnaire on the current situation of English reading teaching was distributed before the experiment. The questionnaire consists of twelve questions which can be divided into three parts. The first part is Question One to Question Six with single choices, which all relate to the reading strategies and habits of higher vocational and technical colleges students. The second part consists of Question Seven with multiple choices. It aims to investigate what difficulties and barriers students are often caught in when doing reading comprehension. The last part of the questionnaire includes the last five questions, Question Eight to Question Twelve, through which the author expects to know whether their teachers explain discourse analysis theory and method or not in their reading teaching class. The data from the questionnaire survey will be presented as follow as well as the further comparison and analysis.

Conclusion
After all the analysis and discussion of the results, the experiment conducted in this research comes to an end. In this chapter, the author tends to conclude the major findings, the implications of the study, state the limitations as well as come up with some suggestions for future study. In order to find an effective way to English reading teaching for higher vocational and technical colleges’ students, the author undertook the research with doing some questionnaires, conducting several tests and carrying out the experimental teaching. Through the research, the two research hypotheses have been confirmed and the major findings could be concluded as below. Firstly, the discourse-based English reading teaching mode does effectively transform the students’ English reading habits. According to the discourse analysis theory, the favorable reading habits that students should occupy include several aspects. For example, students should know to predict the main idea of a text by using their background knowledge. In addition, students should be accustomed to identifying the type of a text and paying attention to cohesive devices in it. Moreover, they should get used to guessing the meaning of unknown words with the help of various context clues, and making inference of the author’s intentions and attitudes.
