From the factors above, we have got aconclusion that time is the quite essential element in a narrative writing. So here is thedefinition of narration from Scholes which refers to the symbolic presentation ofevents in sequence related to the topic and the time.In the resent decades, with the development of narrative analysis，a new-stylediscipline of narratology was concentrated by scholars and structural linguistics tomake a survey of the narratives from the perspective of psychology, sociology,anthropology and philosophy etc.

2.2 Studies of Temporal Adverbials at Home and Abroad
In the last decades，scholarship in related disciplines of linguistics took a great interested in temporal adverbials. And because of the essential nature of temporaladverbials, it guided the linguistics and teachers to define and study temporaladverbials from different perspectives. Based on the various interests, there are manytheories formed and established to analyze the temporal adverbials. All of the theorystarts with the theory related to grammars (Leech，1971)，and most of them are relativeto grammar. In this part, some theories are introduced while emphasis is put ontemporal adverbials formed by Klein and Yao Xinyue, because the present study ismainly based on the frame work of Yao Xinyue.There are three main components in expressing temporality in language which aretense, aspect and temporal adverbials. Klein (1995) pointed out that temporaladverbials are more basic to the expression of temporality because all languages haveformal devices to express tense and aspect, but all languages use a rich variety oftemporal adverbials. And from the structure of grammar, temporal adverbials can bemainly divided into three parts: temporal adverbs (sometimes, today etc.)，temporalphrases (last week, in the morning etc.) and adverbial clauses of time (before he left,when the bomb blowed up etc.). Temporal adverbials are the most important part oftime in linguistics. And so far, scholars in linguistics pay close attention to the studiesfrom the perspectives of sentence structure, pragmatics，second language acquisitionand text analysis.
