Besides, there were some other researchers such as Wu Yuhong and Gu Weixing (2005), who used to investigate the communication among the students in the cooperative teaching activities and to analyze how such communication influence the efficiency of teaching and learning activities. It is obvious that there have already been many researchers who used to investigate the application of cooperative learning activities for various classroom but the research in which the application of cooperative learning activities for English oral classes are still limited. That is exactly the major concern of this research.

1.2 Purpose and Significance
It has been introduced in 1.1 that this research is made to investigate how to apply the cooperative learning activities for English oral classes so that the purpose of this research could be summarized as followed: Firstly, this research is made to investigate how the cooperative learning method could influence the learning activities and the English proficiency of the students. In this research, a questionnaire and an interview were made to collect some information about how the cooperative learning activities influence the English capability of the students. There is no doubt that the result of the questionnaire could help convince readers of the great influence of the cooperative learning method. Secondly, this research is made to provide some useful suggestions for the teachers in charge of oral English classes. In this
thesis, besides the analysis of the result of the interview and questionnaire, the researcher will introduce some suggestions about how to maximize the positive influence of the cooperative learning method and to make sure that the students could make more progress in their oral proficiency. In short, this research is made to present how the cooperative leaning method could influence the English learning of students and to provide some useful suggestions for English teachers, especially who are in charge of oral English classes, so as to guarantee the efficiency of oral English classes.
