2.2 Studies on Self-efficacy Abroad and at Home 
Since Bandura (1977) put forward the concept of Self-efficacy in the article self-efficacy: Toward a Unifying Theory of Behavioral Change, self-efficacy has been a hot focus of study in a variety of areas. Bandura made a definition of self-efficacy that “people’s judgments of their capabilities to organize and execute courses of action required to attain designated of performances” (Bandura, 1986). At the same time, he also defined self-efficacy as “beliefs in one’s capabilities to organize and execute the courses of action required to produce given attainments” (Bandura, 1997). Self-efficacy  is  a  kind  of  motivate  attitude  reacted  to  given  surroundings.  It  determined  “whether coping behavior will be initiated, how much effort will be expended, and how long effort will be sustained in the face of obstacles and aversive experiences” (Lent, Brown & Larkin, 1984). It is also an emotion of competence,  confidence  and  self-respect  when  facing  tasks  and  actions.  In  other  words,  the  higher perceived self-efficacy is, the more sustained engagement in actions and corresponding achievements are.  In  educational  field,  self-efficacy  was  defined  as  language  learners’  subjective  judgments  and expectations  about  their  capacities  to  deal  with  the learning  frustrations  and  challenges  (Arnold,  1999). Learners’  self-efficacy  decides  how  they  will  do  and  want  to  do  with  their  own  knowledge  and  skills. Therefore, the learning performances are great affected and influenced by students’ judgments of what they think they can do (Pajares, 1996).
