Conclusion


The present study has practical significance for both the normal universities and theEnglish teachers.In terms of the normal universities, the verification of the efficiency of Modeling canbe regarded as a reminder of providing courses referring to teaching strategies totuition-free normal university English majors. It is the normal universities' responsibilityto pay attention to those future teachers' professional development and figure out the waysof facilitating the implementation.In terms of the English teachers, whether in-service teachers or teachers-to-be, theverification of Modeling carries the implication that importance should be attached tostrengthening their own familiarity with teaching strategies in their spare time. Throughthe mentioned phases as observation, reflection, reference, practice and evaluationembodied in Modeling, their familiarity with those strategies are supposed to be advancedby following the steps.
Though carefully designed and meticulously conducted, the present study still mightsubject to some limitations owing to some subjective and objective constraints during theprocedure of the experiment.First, it was only a case-study of 40 juniors majored in English Education of Schoolof Foreign Languages in Southwest University. The sampling of the present study was onthe basis of convenience for the conduction of the experiment was carried out after class,which was time-consuming. Accordingly, the sample was comparatively limited. Thereby,the generalization of present study might be lowered. Constructive suggestions can begiven in this field that more subjects should be involved in further study to achieve morehighly generalized results.Second, the experiment only lasted over a span of 5 weeks, which was relatively short.Thus, it is recommended here more time should be given to the training procedure infurther study to fulfill more desired outcomes.Thirdly, courses like teaching methodology were provided in the third year of theEnglish majors' undergraduate study, during which the experiment was going on. It waspossible that their familiarity with teaching strategies for English reading might bestrengthened through implications from those courses.
