The main purpose of this report is to analyze the successful experience of implementing workforce diversity management in IBM. The report comprises the strategic goals, the contribution and the results of managing a diverse workforce in IBM, and recommends will be provided through analyzing the theory and practice of workforce diversity management.
IBM is a leading company in manufacturing computer hardware and software and providing consulting services to the users ranging from corporations to governments worldwide. As the largest supplier of information technology, IBM employs one management strategy, which is workforce diversity management, to achieve full potential realization of the workforce and competitive advantage in the market.
Everything has two sides. On one hand, the workforce diversity management allows IBM to attract talented workers and build the bridge between the workplace and the marketplace. On the other hand, managing a diverse workforce can bring negative influence and new challenges for IBM.
