Conclusion

Because of limited time and endless study of English used in China，the limitations of thisthesis are inevitable and more could be done in future studies.The thesis represents the latest research achievement of English in China，providessome important guidance for variation study both theoretically and methodically. However,the present study focuses on English variation in Chinese cultural context at differentlinguistic levels, leaving phonological level untouched, and more detailed aspects atlinguistic levels need to be explored. More examples and statistics should be extracted andcollected to make the statements and opinions more convincing.It is hoped that the findings in this study could offer an invaluable opportunity forlanguage practitioners, scholars and students in the fields of applied linguistics,sociolinguistics, intercultural communication to exchange opinions, participate in thediscussions, reflect on diverse views and contribute to discussions in the field.
The present study is only a tentative and preliminary study of English used in Chinesecultural context from sociolinguistic perspective.
