本文根据非意愿性双及物构式的语义特征，将其分为四类：因果关系，条件关系，方式关系，让步关系。作为一种特殊的语言现象，非意愿性论元句式广泛应运在当代英文写作过程中，本文的另一个目的是希望上述分析能提高人们对它的认识。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 The definition of the non—volitional ditransitive construction
It is commonly accepted the two opinions on defining the ditranstive construction.On the one hand,some scholars argue that the ditransitive construction includes two constructions:the double object construction(DOC)and the dative construction(DC).
(1)a.John gave Mary a book.(He Xiaowei.2009)
b.John gave a book to Mary.(ibid)
(2)a.Zhang San song Li Si yi ben shu.(Zhang San gave Li Si a book.)(ibid)
(张三送李四一本书。)
b.Zhang San song yi ben shu gei Li Si.(Zhang San gave a book to Li Si)(ibid)
(张三送一本书给李四。)
Generally speaking,the first clause is the double object construction and the second is the dative construction.
On the other hand,the other linguists believe that only the DOC is the ditransitive construction.In the thesis,the DC and the dative construction are the research objectives.However,those cited examples are not the cases.With regard to DCNVA,those types with non-volitional arguments are my study:namely,the double object construction and the dative construction in English whose subject is inanimacy, which are listed respectively as follows:

(4)A few steps across the lawn brought me to a large splendid hotel.(Qian Gechuan,1981,2)
In Chinese,there are also some DCNVA like the following examples:

According to Goldberg,the DC can consist of the two parts:one form the point of the syntax:[sub[V Obj Obj2]](skeletal syntactic structure),the other of the semantics:X causes Y to receive Z(central sense).The DC prototypically construes a scene as involving successful transfer of an object from one party to another with the referent of the subject agentively causing the transfer.(cf:Kazuhiro Kodamn 1998)
