Conclusion


The purpose of this study is to explore a new teaching method that integrates ChinaEnglish into English teaching to make up for the deficiency of Chinese culture incurrent English teaching. Three research questions were put forward and threequestionnaires were used to explore the new teaching method. According to the results,it can be drawn that students' ability to express Chinese culture in English is still weak;students think the culture teaching in English teaching can not meet their needs toexpress typical Chinese cultures and the comprehension is superficial; but it isacceptable among students because the new teaching pattern that integrates ChinaEnglish arouses students' interest in English. Students believe that the teaching patternhelps them improve their basic skills and their competence of expressing Chinesecultures in English and make up for the deficiency of native culture teaching in Englishteaching. Hence, this new teaching pattern could be further applied in English teaching.In conclusion, this paper is an affirmation to the new teaching pattern and the valueof China English. A comprehensive and intensive study on China English could helppeople learn English easily and increase their cultural awareness and confidence in aworldwide context. As Chinese, we have the responsibility to identify our heritagelanguage and culture, speak out our voices and spread our cultures.
In conclusion, this paper is only a tentative and preliminary exploratory study ofChina English in English teaching from the perspective of applied linguistics. There arestill other significant issues to be explored in the future, for example: How shouldeducators in China integrate China English into teaching syllabus, teaching materials,assessment system efficiently? Whether an English variety can be accepted or not is notonly a matter of the intelligibility and acceptance of linguistic features, but also a matterof speakers' tolerance. That is to say, two processes are developing simultaneously inthe development of a non-native English variety: the linguistic and the speakers'attitudes. So how should teachers do to improve learners' sense of love of China English?What this paper has discussed is just a lead-in to more valuable thoughts and analyses ofChina English. It will be enough to provide a Reference for those who are interested inthis subject.
