This includes an examination of the role of fashion and consumer culture in art, artistic practice and fashion curation. In the light of debates surrounding fashion as art and/or art as fashion, we will explore the current trend of collaborations between artists and major labels (such as Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama and Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton, Francesco Vezzoli for Prada and Zaha Hadid for Chanel), as well as designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford or threeASFOUR making ‘works of art’.
