culture has been affecting our generation, especially American culture.
This is a pervasive phenomenon in college campus in our country. When you hang out in campus, you will see such a group of student with different imaginative and incredible hair styles, colorful and fantastic clothes, mouthful modern and elusive words. They are far too sophisticated these days. What is strange is that the change is so common that the Y Generation is not aware of it. Unless one who has profound Chinese culture level may say something about it, its activities are accepted as “normal” and justified with little question.
Without controversy, the time is ongoing without any consideration and alternative. Are those changes affected by globalization? Answer is unique—yes. And what is globalization? Why is the Y Generation globalized?
Globalization refers to a cultural and economic phenomenon which is formed by flowing of substance and token capital such as race, video, science and technology, ideology and transnational movement. The Y Generation is considered as a new outside idea. What is more, country police offers us a relaxed environment.
The new race is interested in American Culture, life style and consumption habit, especially the America’s dream. What attract the new race are special American traits. They embodies in Cooper’s The Pioneer. The novel’s hero, a land developer, takes his cousin on a tour of the city he is building. But his cousin looks around bewildered. All she sees is stubby forest. “Where are the beauties and improvements which you were to show me?” she asks. He is astonished she can not see them. “Where? Why everywhere!” he replies. For though they are not yet built on earth, he has built them in his mind, and they are as concrete to him as if they were already constructed and finished.
Cooper was illustrating a distinctly American trait, future-mindedness: the ability to see the present from the vantage point of future; the freedom to feel unencumbered by the past and more emotionally attached to things to come. “America is therefore the land of the future.” The German philosopher Hegel wrote. “Life for Americans is always becoming, never being.”
One word affects a generation. The new race transforms their idea of consumption, knowing deficit spending, changes their life styles, it is said that the most of Internet use takes place in China. Meanwhile, what people eat at breakfast has become milk and bread, what people wear has become the famous brand from the world.
However, the word also brings some negative effects, the obliviousness to their
history, the increasing alien personal character, the frenzied waste of talents. The author think people will never forget the famous mountaineering organization called Shangying Agency in Qinghua University. Enjoying the thrill and challenge has them overwhelmed in the storm. Blindness, arbitration, foolhardiness made waste, but they have no chance to think about and understand the detail of the waste.
Is it true that the foreign moon is bigger and more beautiful than ours? “Made in America” has labeled anywhere, however, “Made in China” only appears on the small goods.
B. McChina: A Consequence of Enjoyment
