From this angle, the black men are the black women’s enemies. Accordingly, the black women should unite to get their common rights. The black men and women should unite to struggle for freedom and equality. All in all, to unite is a way helping the blacks out of their plights. C. Eliminating Racial Problems On April 7, 2001, a white police officer shot to death an unarmed black youth in Cincinnati, Ohio, just because he was trying to run away after breaking traffic rules. This problem caused by racism happens frequently in the United States. The white people don’t realize that the incidents like this frequently occur in the United States, are breach for human rights. To deal with it, people must eliminate the racism. Racism is an idea closely associated with slavery in America. Although slavery, as a system, was abolished many years ago, the whites didn’t think the blacks had the same rights as them, and they also barbarically exclude the blacks. Racism outlived slavery and flourished for the next 100 year, in which the majority of states made it a crime for blacks to intermingle with whites in all walks of life. The federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination in hiring, promotion, discharge, pay, fringe benefits, and other aspects of employment on the basis of race. The 21st U.N. General Assembly in 1966 carried out a resolution that 21, March of each year is designated as International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination to fight against discrimination. These laws only give lip service to the blacks, which is a reason the prejudice yet exists. Maybe the whites don't see this discrimination as a problem. Nowadays, the whites-blacks relation is still complex and volatile. The root causes are yet the racism. The racial discrimination and lack of communication also deepen the cultural misunderstanding. Each person is created equal, therefore, both races should pursue common interests and eliminate the racial problems together. Besides, there are other necessary reasons to eliminate the racial discrimination. Firstly, many conflicts between ethnic groups occurred in United States because of the serious racial discrimination. The people need a peaceful environment to live in, so the peace becomes more and more important. Therefore, eliminating the racial problems is no longer the American thing, but every place in which the racism exists. Secondly, all people in the world are created equal. In other words, the blacks have rights and obligation to enjoy equality. Lastly, the blacks had contributed to American development, so the Americans have the obligation to deal with the racial problems. There are many ways of eliminating the discrimination. The first is make laws to protect the black women’s rights. There are some laws about their rights but they don’t work in real life. Therefore, making a special law to protect the black women becomes necessary. The second and also the best way is propagation. Making laws force the white people to obey may cause the whites’ dissatisfactions; however, propagation can avoid the
