This shows that the respondents are comfortable with the culture at calumet and they are motivated by their peers. A collaborative climate is described by the phrase 'working well together'. The results suggest there is such a collaborative climate present at Calumet. It is important to create a sense of belonging, and to give team members a possibility for growth. In order to have a collaborative climate it is necessary for team members to trust each other which seem to be the case at Calumet. It is this climate that helps employees to focus on attaining the goals set.

Take Advantage of Existing talent within the company: One of the top contributors to job satisfaction and motivation among employees is having the opportunity to use their skills and abilities at work. Employees frequently have skills and abilities beyond the position for which they have been hired. Calumet should take steps to discover the skill sets of its employees and use them, especially during this time of economic uncertainty.
Using the existing talent within Calumet to help shape the company's future could be one of the ways that the company train and develop employees while meeting organisational goals. This could help the organisation increase employees' motivation and productivity and improve their chances of retaining their best talent. One way of doing this would be to offer industry training to enhance the employee's knowledge of their work. Also an alternative to offering higher pay could be to fund professional qualifications under the condition employees agreed on a minimum length of service offered to employees who wish to progress their career within Calumet.
Partner with Employees: The slow economy has meant that employees are less likely to look for new jobs. In this study, 64% of employees reported that they are unlikely to look for work outside their company at present. The findings of this research indicate that employees are looking to build better relationships with their organisation management. Two of the top contributors to employees' job satisfaction were relationship with immediate supervisor and communication between employees and senior management. The relationship with immediate supervisor was also a strong condition for employee motivation. Calumet will benefit from partnering with employees because it will increase trust, connection and commitment within the company.
Set Clear Direction: After recent years of economic and organisational uncertainty, there may be a disconnection between management and employees.
Clear direction set by the leaders of the organisation and HR will help employees understand what is expected of them and what lies ahead. Communicating effectively with employees can provide the workforce with direction and promote trust.
Calumet might consider upward communication such as gathering Feedback from employees through focus groups led by their peers. Employers will need to take the results of their dialogue with employees and translate them into measurable actions that fit into Calumets organisational goals.
