摘要:Theinternal characteristics of writing is measured by only four index (W/T, W/C,C/T,DC/C),and there are other index to measure students' writing syntactic ability such as the usage ofsubordinate clauses,passives and discrete syntactic patterns,in particular reduced structures.Accordingly, the further researches can choose more students from different universitiesas subjects. And a qualitative analysis can be applied to the future study to investigatestudents' thinking process in writing. Furthermore, the relationship between writing anxietyand other index of writing performance such as usage of dependent and independent clausesand reduced structures can be examined in the future researches.
1.2 Significance of the Research
The cultivation of Chinese students' writing ability is a difficult point of language skilltraining. When facing the writing task,students will feel anxious and pressured to somedegree, which will influence the process of writing. The present study was intended toconduct an empirical research to find out relationship between writing anxiety and the scoresof foreign language writing and their internal characteristics among English majors. Thus,this thesis will provide some suggestions and implications for the teaching of foreignlanguage writing. Having known the influence of writing anxiety on writing performance inSLA, teachers can attach more importance to affective factors, especially writing anxiety inthe process of teaching in order to help students reduce their writing anxiety associated withwriting.
1.3 Layout of the research
Chapter one is the introductory part which provides g^eral information consisting ofresearch background, research questions, the significance of the research and theorganization of the thesis.Chapter two offers relevant literature involving the definition, classification of anxietyand writing anxiety and the previous researches of anxiety and FL writing anxiety.Chapter three describes the research design, subject,data collection and analysis clearly.Chapter four presents the results of the research and the discussion of it in detailChapter five provides the findings in this thesis, implications and limitations of thestudy and suggestions for further research.
