摘要:本文是高中英语教学论文,本研究的实验对象是湖南师范大学附属中学两个同水平层次的高二班级。实验条件具备后,本实验随机选择了一个班级作为实验班。针对高中生的写作特点,实验班通过帮助学生辨识、输入、练习、积累、运用预制语块来探索新的写作教学方法。

Although there are many psycholinguistics’ statements and terms, they all agree that formulaic sequences are the lexicalized combinations, the essence of judging FSs is as follows: (1) they are multi-word combinations; (2) they are memorized and retrieved as a whole or not; (3) they can be employed without grammar rules. The present study takes adopt Nattinger and De Carrico(1992) ’s three criterions to identify FSs: frequency, semantic unity and syntactic flexibility. Definitely, frequency can be counted as a vital parameter to FSs. According to Halliday(1993:3), because FSs are regarded as prefabs of language which can be stored as a whole unit and have a lot to do with their frequency of occurrence, occurrence of frequency can be a mirror of “ probabilities in the linguistic system”. That is to say, the higher the occurring probability of frequency is, the greater the chances of speakers’ use of language are. Accordingly, the probability that FSs can be stored and retrieved as a whole unit in people’s mental lexicon can be greater.

2.2 Operational Definition of FSs
The operational definition determines the count of amount of FSs and teaching approach, therefore, it is vital to make clear what kinds of sequences can be recognized as “formulaic” in the study. Based on the criteria of Nattinger and De Carrico(1992), FSs in the present study is defined below: Formulaic sequences, as the lexicalized combinations, is the medium state between traditional poles of lexicon and syntax, which hinges on institutionalization, prefabrication, and fixedness with varied degree on the continuum model. It occurs frequently in language use and can be stored and extracted as a whole in people’s mental lexicon. And here are some principles of identifying FSs in the research. First, the repeated same FSs can only be counted as one, whatever is used how many times. They often overuse FSs like you know, I think, that’s I want to say, etc. Second, in order to ensure a valid number of FSs, some sequences as follows which degrade validity of compositions is subtracted based on the principle that it doesn’t affect comprehension. The FSs mistakes in spellings and plural/singular forms, the incorrectly memorized errors (e.g, on my opinions, as far as I concern, etc)
