摘要:本文是英语四六级论文,本文采用定量与定性相结合的方法,主要从元话语标记语的使用与作文水平的关系、恰当使用的元话语标记语及不当使用的元话语标记语的角度,分析写作中元话语标记语的使用情况。
Writing is defined as “who writes what to whom, for what purpose, why, when, where and how (Grabe and Kaplan, 1996:203)”. Writing involves far more than just conveying linguistic knowledge. It is also concerned with gathering, analyzing information and ideas and ways of organizing and presenting them. Writing initially comes from the writers’ need of expressing. However, writing serves as not only conveying the writers’ inner opinions and feelings, but also contacting with readers. Writing is not a random combination of some unrelated words, phrases or sentences, but a logical sentences which not only meet the need of expressing the whole meaning but also should let the reader understand what writer’s purpose is and what his attitude towards the subject. Hyland (2008) regards writing as social interaction, that is, writing is the communication between readers and writers. “All writing is motivated by the intention to persuade-to convince our readers to take certain actions, to adopt our world view, to agree with us and like us” (Cheng, 1996: 150).
