Especially when foreign companies offer higher wages to Chinese employees and promote them to higher position, the competition for talents becomes sharper. Domestic insurance companies certainly will make some changes on their HRM and deepen the internal reform to strengthen their competitive power.
Fourth, it helps improve customer service and value. “The Chinese insurance industry is relatively new, especially in personal lines and in a majority of commercial lines. With hundreds of years of experience, foreign insurance companies are definitely able to provide new and diverse products that meet the needs of Chinese markets. They have been many favorable experiences in China. For example, many different types of new life insurance products, such as universal life insurance and variable life insurance, were first sold in foreign countries such as the US. Now, these products have been introduced into China. More notably, most Chinese insurance companies (domestically-owned, foreign-owned, or joint venture) have recognized that service competitions should be more important than price competition, just as Gene C. Lai stated that the concept of service competitions was a result of foreign insurance companies’ participation.” [5] (P53)

To those foreign insurance companies, the market in China is the biggest one in the world and almost every big city in China is an attractive “cake” to them.
