ng is a good way to train students to speak coherently and fluently.
Here is an example of the procedures for the technique:
Step 1 The class is divided into groups based on the parts of the picture.
Step 2 Each group is given one part of the pictures and then studies it.
Step 3 After a few minutes discussion, the teacher takes the pictures back from each
group.
Step 4 The teacher makes new groups with one student from each of the orginal
groups (one from group A, one from group B, etc).
Step 5 The students in the new groups have to try and reconstruct the story by
discussing what they saw on each of their pictures.‘
Step 6 The teacher then gets the different groups to tell their stories. Often with
picture sequences there will be more than one version of the story. The teacher
then shows the students all the pictures.
6.4.2 Description
The description technique is used to cultivate students' ability to express their own
ideas and opinions based on the own careful observation or study of people, states, events,
things and so on. It is also a helpful way to share information together. Here is an example
of the procedure:
Step 1 The class is divided into several groups, each group contains five or six
members.
Step 2 The students in each group are given different postcards or pictures. Each one
keeps his own without showing to the others.
Step 3 Each student in the group describes his own postcards or pictures to the other
students.
Step 4 After each member in a group has finished his description, then the group
leader collects the postcards or pictures and exchanges with other groups.
During this procedure, the teacher's main work is to walk around to see how well
each group is performing. Meanwhile, he may listen to them'from group to group, offering'
students the words they need to use to describe and give some positive feedback.

teachers tend' to talk too much, and (2) some students will not talk at all. To involve
students' participation in oral class, first of all, the teacher should change his role from
controller to facilitator. Second, the teacher needs to select an interesting topic which the
learners care about. Third, the teacher has to create, an atmosphere conducive to student
participation. Discussions involve high degrees of interaction among all participant) .
Discussion denotes, by definition, an exchange of ideas, with active learning and
participation by all concerned. A discussion is an active process of student-teacher or
student-student interaction in the classroom. Discussion activities are an important part of
oral class, The main thing to remember is that proper organization can ensure their success.
Here are the procedures:
Step 1 Students are given some audio, visual or reading materials in advance, and are
told that in the next class, the group-work may be connected with these audio,
visual-or reading materials.
Step 2 Divide the class into several groups, each containing five to six members. The
teacher offers the discussion topic. The topic should be interesting and
controversial.
Step 3 After discussion, each group selects one member to give their opinion on the
