Some teachers thus suffer a variety of psychological distress.Without solving the teachers' mental health problems, it is not only difficult to carry out thereform smoothly, but also will greatly affect the forthcoming towards mental health of students.For the teachers has a great impact on the students' mental health status. If the teacher himselfalways presents physically and mentally unhealthy and shows distorted values or indifferenceand eccentric character, or a variety of clinical symptoms, it is no doubt that it will cause greatharm to the students' mental health in the long-term process of education and teaching, Teacherswith mental disorders may also transmit their excessive anxiety, fear, paranoia, allergies andother unhealthy tendencies to the students, which may result in the students' mental state todeteriorate. That is to say, if the teachers' own psychological is not healthy; it is absolutelyimpossible and unimaginable to train the new generation with mental health. Based on the abovediscussion, it is necessary to choose the teachers' mental health problems as a subject of researchnowadays.


Chapter 2 Literature Review


2.1 Definition of Mental Health
As to mental health, it has been launched a large number of researches and expositions athome and abroad, however, the definition of mental health is yet to be determined.In 1908, Clifford Whittingham Beers first proposed the term Mental Health in A RecoveredHeart which was also known as "Conscious of the Heart" (A Mind that Found Itself). Since then,domestic and foreign psychologists make researches on it from different angles and thedefinitions are given one after another in the later studies.Allport, a Harvard University psychologist, divided person's mental health area into sixcriteria: 1)   Expansion of self-consciousness,   that is self-extension into activities. 2) A goodrelationship. 3) Courage to recognize ones own weaknesses and shortcomings, and do everythingin life to improve their own. 4) Accept and recognize the reality properly. 5) Acquire certainskills and willing to work positively 6) a good outlook on life.H.B. English pointed out that mental health is an ongoing psychological state. In that case,the parties can adapt well, with the vitality of life, and can fully develop their physical andmental potential: this was a positive situation, not just free of mental illness
In 1946, the Third International Health Assembly summed up that the so-called mentalhealth refers to the individual's state of mind to develop into the best state, while do notcontradict of others within the range of physical, intellectual, emotional and mental health.In stead of the absolute state of perfect, Concise Encyclopedia Britannica states that themental health refers to the individual's mental, to the extent permitted by environmentalconditions and itself, which can achieve the best functional status.Chinese scholars Professor Liu Huashan believe that mental health is a continuing state ofmind. In this state, individuals with the vitality of life, positive inner experience, and strongsocial adaptation can play an effective role of social function.
