Conclusion
This thesis is far from perfect because of limited time and resources. The limitations of thethesis are as follows:First, as far as the subjects are concerned, this research has involved 300 students and 5teachers, the samples are not large enough. Besides, all the students are from the same university,so the result is somewhat not so persuasive to stand for all the situation of the universities andcolleges.Second, this thesis primarily evaluates the Intensive Reading course in the series of CEN whileleaving the other courses like Listening & Speaking course, Teachers’ book and other resourceslike Tapes, courseware little mentioned. Therefore, the research on the static evaluation of thetextbook itself is well done while the dynamic evaluation of the use of textbook needs to be furtherexplored.Third, the questionnaire without open questions and interview questions for present evaluationare designed by the researcher herself, so its effectiveness needs to be further tested.Last but not least, textbook evaluation is a complex process and many variable factorsaffecting the use of the textbook should be considered, especially the needs of the learners, so thein-use evaluation of the textbook is an indispensible part of textbook evaluation based on therelevant theories and researches.
