eason of participating in the community. It is not easy for teachers to voluntarily participate in a learning community on weekends or continue to participate in it. In particular, some members from other cities need to travel a lot for the community learning. Nonetheless, the learning community considered in this study had already lasted for more than 2 years at the time this research started. The results of the data analysis show three factors affecting continuation of participation: 1) the strong desire to change their current situation; 2) the similarity of their background and interests among participants; 3) the charm and attraction from the expert. Teachers were motivated to participate in the expert-led community because they felt that there was something weak with their working or their professional knowledge and wished to seek development.

Conclusion
This study set out to examine how learning activities occured within an expert-led teachers learning community for teachers professional development. To this end, it explored three questions: 1) What leads teachers to participate in the expert-led learning community? 2) What learning and other activities are there in the expert-led teachers learning community? 3) How does the expert-led learning community promote the professional development of university English teachers? The main findings on the first research question reveal that teachers motivation for voluntarily participating in the community is out of their strong desire of professional development but without a fixed and feasible direction and out of the charm of the expert. The findings relating to this study's second question indicate that there are various types of activities along with the expert-led learning community. Among them, the expert-led learning, the cooperative learning within the community and the independent learning belong to learning activities, besides them, the organizing activities from the college leaders are also very important to the building of the expert-led teachers learning community.
