摘要:20世纪60年代以来,教师专业发展已越来越普及,这也将是未来教育领域的一个重要课题,因为挡住了至关重要的作用。随着新课程的背景下,教师面临的挑战是许多变化,使教师的专业发展,更加迫切。
Conclusion
Through the analysis in the previous chapters, we know that the new curriculumreform in basic education not only provides opportunities for the English teachers butalso gives them great challenges. For one thing, it is a new point for teachers’professional development which is a hot and popular topic in the field of teachers’education. For another, the teachers also have to face lots of challenges brought by thenew curriculum reform. According to the survey mentioned in the thesis, we clearlyknow the current teaching situation of secondary English teachers’ professionaldevelopment in Mengcheng County, which is illustrated in detail in Chapter Four andChapter Five. We find that problems for English teachers’ professional developmentare presented as follows: first and foremost, English teachers’ professional knowledgeis weak and educational ideas are limited to old ways. What’s more, English teachers’self-developmental consciousness is not strong and English teachers’ research abilityis weak. Besides, English teachers lack the awareness of lifelong learning as well ascreative and research ability. Finally, English teachers’ working way is too traditional.So teachers should be aware of their own professional development and try to find outthe weakness they have, and then make great efforts to make them up.
The above findings may be a reference for English teachers to consider and themethods stated in the thesis may help them. The curriculum designed for Englishteachers should keep up with the development of the society and be consistent withthe new curriculum.
