To solve this problem firstly we discussed the topic together and at last we chose the Bluetooth to do market research on. Then we made the questionnaire together. After that three of us used personal interviews and two of us used telephone interviews to finish the questionnaires. Next we counted the date and shared information. Finally we wrote essay respectively.

Firstly, the theory of Multiple Intelligences developed by Psychologist Howard Gardner (1968) states “there are at least seven ways that people have of perceiving and understanding the world and each of these ways have a distinct "intelligence"--in other words, a set of skills allowing individuals to find and resolve genuine problems they face.” When I did the market research I used my Interpersonal intelligence to solve the problem. For example when I talked to strangers I was not so nervous because my team member and I did 200 surveys together. On the contrary, I thought that time went fast, just after three hours we finished it, so I enjoyed working with other people. Secondly, the theory of Communities of Practice, Institute for research on learning (1998) states “Learning is fundamentally a social phenomenon.” I find I like to study and do homework with friends. Learning with a group is the best way to learn.

Thirdly, I have improved my communication skills since I came into SBC. The purpose of communication is to get your message across to others and to understand the message that others try to get across to you.  SBC has so many resources to help me develop my communication skills; for example, written communication and spoken communication. Last semester I had a presentation and it was team work. This meant my team members and I needed to communicate information to an audience. The problems for me to do this activity were my poor pronunciation which led me to be nervous about standing on a platform for public speaking, because of my low voice and bad time management. There were three reasons for why it was difficult for me to do this activity. Firstly, there were no speaking classes in high school and I read the phonetics by myself, so I did not know whether my pronunciation was correct. Secondly, I was nervous because it was my first presentation. Thirdly, it was very difficult for me to control the speaking time. When I was nervous the speaking speed would be fast, if I spoke too quickly I would finish early, which would lead to a low mark. To solve this problem firstly, to make sure the teachers would understand what I said, I did more practice in my free time, going slowly and timing myself. If it took too long, then I edited it down. Secondly, my team members and I also went to class and did practice together. After the practice my team members could help me point out the areas where I needed to improve. 
The theory of observational learning states that we learn by observing others behavior. When I practiced the presentation I found the body language of my team members was very good; I then observed their behavior and copied it.
As a university student who wants to study in the U.K. I must be able to “stand on my own feet”, so the skills I have learned will help me adjust to new conditions quickly.
