摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本研究以视觉语法与多模态话语分析的综合框架为理论依据,强调模态间协同作用,并结合现有的多模态教学研究,采用实验法,访谈法等探究如下问题:(1)多模态听力教学对初中生英语听力能力有何影响?(2)多模态听力教学对不同水平初中生英语听力能力有何影响?
本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本研究得出以下研究结论:(1)多模态听力教学对学生英语听力能力提高产生了一定效果;(2)在多模态教学的模式下,不同层次的学生听力都能够得到了一定改善。其中,多模态听力教学对中等层次学生和低层次学生听力能力的提高具有显著影响。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Research Background
Listening is the basis of language communication and it is one of the mainchannels for learning and absorbing language.It is clear that listening,as a majorlanguage input channel,plays a crucial role in improving students’overall Englishproficiency.However,among the four skills of listening,reading,writing andspeaking in second language acquisition,listening has not received enough attention.In the current junior high school English classroom,listening is regarded as a kind ofreceptive skill by teachers,and the teaching mode of English listening is relativelysingle and boring,and students are tired of listening learning.The importance oflistening teaching has not been given enough attention.Moreover,in the currentresearch,English listening teaching has never become a hot issue of research.
At present,the shortage of English teachers has been basically solved,and themain reason affecting the progress of English teaching reform in junior high schoolsin China is that the overall teaching ability level of teachers varies.A large proportionof English teachers,due to their busy schedules,find it difficult to find free time toexplore and expand new ways of teaching English based on their refined teachingknowledge,and can only make teaching plans according to their existing teachingconcepts.Therefore,teachers need to take advantage of their rich knowledge anddevelop special teaching methods to guide students to transform the teacher’s“teaching”into students’“learning”and actively cultivate students’interest andabilities to learn independently.Our English teaching in junior high schools also hasmany new reforms,which are reflected in both the concept of classroom teaching andthe change in the concept of independent learning by students.
1.2 Research Purposes
Listening,as an important means of language input,plays an important role inthe development of comprehensive English ability that cannot be ignored.ManyEnglish learners,especially junior high school students,have not been exposed toEnglish learning for a long time and are psychologically afraid of listening or lackinterest in listening learning,while teachers lack systematic and scientific teachingmethods when teaching English listening.
This thesis hopes to apply the multimodal teaching method to junior high schoolEnglish listening teaching to explore a listening teaching method that is more in line with the characteristics of the current era,which can be used to improve students’listening competence,increase language input,and play a positive role in promotingthe cultivation of students’practical language ability and creative languageconsciousness at a deeper level.
In actual teaching,proper multimodal teaching can make use of multimedia tomaximize students’audiovisual senses and make up for the deficiencies of today’slistening teaching;promote students’subjective role as learning subjects,help themdevelop thinking skills,master language knowledge,improve their ability to identifyand solve practical problems,and also provide teachers with scientific ways toimprove students’core literacy.
