摘要:本文是英语教学法论文,笔者认为建立一个基于聊天的少数民族预科学生混合学习模式是非常重要的。少数民族预科生作为大学英语学习者,其英语基础不如其他学生扎实。因此,英语学习兴趣和动机的缺失等问题日益显现。如果这种情况不改变,学生将遭受很大的负面影响。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
With the continuously development of information and communication technology, the internet has gradually embedded into people’s daily life, which has new requirements for the learners’ cultivation. First, the abilities of acquiring and processing information quickly should be cultivated for the social demand of innovative talents. Then, the capabilities of getting and updating knowledge independently should be trained because of the high-speed knowledge renewal. Meanwhile, with the coming of lifelong learning era, the
Education style should also be flexible and break though the limitation of time and space. As to English learning, it doesn’t mean that students only remember some words and know how to read and write English. They should use the language skills to communicate fluently in real-life situation. However, the dominant instruction model in China is still teacher-centered. Ignoring students’ personal needs, teachers only explain the text books and knowledge points. They neglect listening and speaking, and mainly pay attention to students’ reading and writing skills to deal with examinations. What’s worse, the shortage of listening devices and the lack of speaking materials also lead to students have few chances to practice English. Meanwhile, because of the little interaction, most students are negative with low English learning self-efficacy. Many scholars gradually realized the problems of teacher-centered model and tried to change it into student-centered. With the popularity of internet and computer, they proposed that putting information technology into English education was an inevitable trend. Accordingly, they tried to replace the traditional class teaching with totally online learning. However, this reform made no success but exposed a series of problems, which means that totally online learning without teachers’ guidance can not inspire students’ initiative and autonomy. Under such educational environment, blended learning has been put forward, which is a new learning model that combines the advantages of traditional learning and online learning. It not only brings teachers’ leading role into full play, but also embodies students’ central position in the process of learning. In other words, using teachers’ guiding and monitoring role, this model also emphasizes students’ initiative, enthusiasm and creativity. Therefore, more and more scholars make their effort to study various blended learning conditions, aiming at performing the learning activities better.
